Malta - Day 3
June 10
St Julians is crazy. I'm sitting on the beach (finally), which would normally be serene and calming, except all I can hear is a nearby club playing ac dc. The tourists to the left of me are completely disrespecting the track, but that's what you get at St Julians. I have never heard so much doof doof in all my life.... And so many people out in skimpy clothes. Urgh. I hate this scene, but here it's almost acceptable, cause it seems the place for it. Wogs, water and wankers.
I have been hangin with my new mates, the publican and bar flies at Rose and Lily Bar. So nice. Always a plate of salami, cheese and bread in front of us. I hardy paid for a drink, they just kept shouting, even when I said "no thanks".
I tried the Ricotta Kannol and almost fell of my chair. Absolutely divine. I have another in my bag for brekkie. Can't wait. Very nice people.
Today I spent in Gozo. Very quiet island. Not much happening. It seems more elaborate and woggish than Malta. Malta is a little more humble (except St Julians - which is another planet).
I ate Ravioli today. Wow. It was so good. Filled with Gozo cheese. Really great. It reminded me of home and family. I wish everyone could have had it with me. It was the size of Nanas, which normally I would have 4. They are huge. I ate 7 today, and have been full since. I hope they don't have nice food in Prague, I need a salad.
Oh dear, I wish the dj wouldn't sing. He's a dj for a reason.
Anyways, I missed out on seeing what I wanted today, cause I got caught up looking at other things. I really need more time here. It's magnificent. I wish I could have a day on the beach... Or rocks.
Oh, in ran into someone who knew about the metal scene here!! Unfortunately, there's nothing on today, or for a while, until the world cup is done. Cool to know there is a scene here though.
