Malta - Day 2

June 9

Valletta

12:42
I feel at home.  The language, lifestyle and especially the food seems like second nature. I don't even care about the tourist sites. I just like being here. I reminds me of home and family.

I could eat Pastizzi all day. 25cent each. I will be round by the time I leave here.

Skate shop is playing John butler trio.

1:37
Wow, that was crazy. That's the best church I've ever seen. St John's Cathedral. Built by the knights of St John, who were later buried under the church. The floor is one giant tomb stone, with skulls and angels. Cool as.

I was asked to cover my shoulders as I entered the cathedral, the lady gave me a small sheet to cover up, as a sign of respect.

It was so massive in there, I couldn't help but be humbled at the greatness of it all.... Religious or not, that's a massive impact He has made on the world. Last thought: no one likes a martyr. Shhh.

2:00
Stumbled into the Malta stock exchange. Oops

2:09
I just asked if I could go into a building that turned out to be the prime ministers office. Oops
2:37
Lunch and rest. Hobz biz-zeit & cisk.

Things to try:
Ravjul tal-irkotta (nanas rav!!)
Bragioli - rolled beef olives in tom sauce
Traditional rabbit
Quassata - maltese ricotta pie
Bombette - spinnach mozarella n ham
Kannol
Honey ring
Krustini

2:58
The beer costs the same as the water.

5:45
That sugar hit did me well. Kannol Zanaljone. Mmmmmm

6:11
"This bus is unsafe". I am getting sick of the winging Pome's.

7:38
Stopped for a beer and relax. Made 3 new friends. They bought me Cisk, we ate Gozo cheese, and salami and promised me a Ricotta Kannol tomorrow (they don't normally make them thus time of year). Now to find this Maltese restaurant they suggested. I don't trust the Maltese and their directions.

10:45
Wow. What an awesome meal. 1/2 a Rabbit (mum, you would like this! Seriously) with potato, and veggies. Enough for 2. I think it was a fancy Malta restaurant, but still only €22. The most money I have spent here so far. So full. Bed time, but not sure how sleep will go tonight. Wednesday is huge for the Maltese in St Julians. Lots of doof doof and screaming girls. I'm old, and dont have anything skimpy enough to wear out. Goodnight.
